A dream come into being...
It was 17 years ago when Paula and Esther walked the community of Etete looking for land on which to build their full vision for Summerhill. It was then that they connected with Palm Lakes Estate, a brand new development of its kind in Tinley Manor. Mark Froman and Jo Roome with generosity at their core set out to see what they could do to help. With the backing and agreement of the local government, and the generosity of RPPH donating the land, it was a momentous occasion that enabled Summerhill Houses’ full vision to come into being- to be a light in the local community via establishing our community center and building our village for long term foster-care for vulnerable children.
Today, it stands as a testament of faithfulness, and an example of putting one foot in front of the other to see a dream come into being. Summerhill sits literally on your doorstep. As neighbours, we welcome anyone who would like to visit or be a part of Summerhill in its various ways, shapes, or forms.

Summerhill House - Helping children grow in more than one way
At Summerhill House, we believe every child deserves a loving, stable home. As a non-profit, we provide care, support, and a sense of family to orphaned and vulnerable children, including those impacted by HIV/AIDS. Our work focuses on two key areas: our village and the wider community.
In the heart of Etete, our village provides holistic care, helping children grow emotionally, physically, and academically in a nurturing and loving family environment. Beyond the village, we uplift the community through educational support (homework assistance and learning to read), sports, life skills, social care, and feeding initiatives.
We rely on the generosity of donors and partners who share our vision of creating a brighter future for these precious children. With your support, we can give children the chance to dream and succeed.
